Hello! This is a simple crash course on how to forward your current (old or existing) email address to the new “_____@rpmmanaged.com” addresses. This will ensure that you don’t miss any emails during the transition, the migration will be seamless.
Everyone uses different email clients or services at the moment so I will cover a few various providers I have noticed people using. If I don’t cover your exact ISP or email provider in these instructions and you feel like you need further help, please feel free to contact me at “c.steven.reese@gmail.com” and I’ll help you out.
If you are a Windows Live / Hotmail user please take extra care to read and comprehend the warning included in the Hotmail section.

Since I myself use Gmail I have created a few pictures to help visualize this process. While these screenshots won’t be exactly the same for every email provider, they should show you the basics on forwarding your email.
The step-by-step pictures are in the Gmail section.
I recommend that you complete the steps to forwarding your email in the web-based mail clients (like gmail.com), not in Outlook or similar desktop programs.
gmail
7a. Highlight and copy the 8 or 9 digit code under Confirmation code:.
*note* There is also a link in the verification email that you can click rather than copy and pasting manually.
7b. Switch back to Gmail in your browser.
7c. Paste the 8-part confirmation code under confirmation code.
7d. Click Verify.
8a. Make sure “Forward a copy of incoming mail to __ and __” is selected under “Forwarding:”.
8b. Choose how Gmail should handle forwarded messages. I ercommend selecting…
“archive Gmail’s copy” to make Gmail mark forwarded messages as read and remove them from the Inbox, but keep them in the archive for later search and retrieval.
This setting makes it easy to retain full functionality of your Gmail inbox should you need it in the future.
8c. Click Save Changes.
That’s it! You’re all done!
At this point I like to send a test email to my old address and make sure it shows up in my new “@RPMmanaged.com” inbox to verify everything is working properly.
If this worked, congrats! You can now check email at your new address and rest assured that all messages are being delivered, you won’t miss a beat!

WARNING!!!!
After 270 days Windows Live Hotmail will turn off your account due to inactivity. After 365 days they will delete the account if it remains inactive.
Make sure you log in to your Windows Live Hotmail account on the Hotmail website at least every 270 days (every 8.5 months or so) to avoid it being marked as inactive and eventually deleted. This is a nuisance to say the least.
According to documentation on the Hotmail website they will alert you via email if they have flagged your account for expiration, so you can probably wait until that email arrives to go through this process. However…
To be safe I would set an event on my personal calendar to remind me to log into the Hotmail web client once every 6 months.
